You can hire a bicycle, mobike, taxi, car, or jeep; but make sure you strike a good bargain first, and if it is a taxi, always make sure you travel by the meter. However, it's important to know that meters in taxis are tampered with, so make sure you tell the reception desk in your hotel to arrange a taxi for you & also ask him to fix the price before you care to use the cab. This would be a better way to ensure you are not ripped off.

Prior to traveling by yourself, it is wise to acquire detailed information about your travel route, safety measures, keeping in mind your time of travel & getting some kind of background information about the native people, the culture, their customs, & the traditions they follow etc. in most cases, a majority of Nepalese people are very helpful and generous.
