Buyers and sellers from around the globe who were here to participate in the 3rd NATTA Himalayan International Travel Mart 2009 expressed joy in the fact that efforts to expand their business network have actually been successful. They said the number of enquiries from outbound and inbound tourists’ relating to packages for various destinations was very impressive.
Tashi Tobgay of Unique Bhutan Tours & Travels said, ‘the results will come soon, in a few weeks, from tourists’ who would like to visit Bhutan’, he said. Bharat Bhatia, MD, Your Thai Holiday Travels & Tours, who is here to sell Thailand, said that the B2B sessions were fruitful in terms of interacting to spread his business network. ‘We have targeted 3000 tourists’ from Nepal within 2010’, he said promptly.
Sambhu Pathak, coordinator of the travel mart, went on to say there were approximately 50 foreign tour & travel agents who were real interested to sell Nepal in the international market. ‘We had a 3-4 hours long B2B meetings that focused a lot on holiday tours’, he said.
Well, to go by the response the travel mart has received; tourism in Asia seems to be on a roll to greener pastures in the days ahead.
