Flydubai, Dubai’s first real low cost airline, is on the wings to start its service to Kathmandu on December 15. It will start of with four flights per week. The one-way fare is a straight-of-the-cuffs price that will hit the market for Rs. 7,098. Nepal’s poor unemployed, skilled & unskilled laborers will sure take this news as a piece-of-cake with smiles all over the face. The flydubai model comes across real simple, with customers simply paying for the services they require, and nothing else.
Passengers get the option to purchase checked –in baggage in advance at just Rs. 811 for the first piece and Rs. 2028 for the second, weighing up to a wholesome useful 32 kgs. With this facility, our Nepalese citizens heading for the breadline in sunny Dubai could probably add in a few kgs of their favorite rice and lentils to their baggage. A nominal payment of Rs. 101 allows customers to select their seat and going the extra mile with Rs. 1014 will secure passengers extra legroom positions that could well be a joyride on flydubai…all the way. This could also be a bonus for our tired trekkers flying home via Dubai. Rich Dubai’s recently introduced middle class air services will sure see a lot of smiling faces in the days ahead!!!
