Day 01: Fly or drive to Pokhara & drive to Phedi, then you trek to Dhampus [1700m]
Your trip starts with your 45 minute flight from Kathmandu or you can take a 7 hrs. Scenic drive to Pokhara. During your flight, you will be getting the most magnificent and sensational views of the Himalayan range. As your flight lands at Pokhara, you will be mesmerized by the irresistible visual treat of Manaslu and the Annapurna mountain range. In Pokhara, A bus will take you to Phedi. From there onward begins your trekking within the Annapurna mountain range. As you climb uphill, you will bask in the splendor of nature and your trails become more adventurous. Finally, after walking for 3 hours, you encounter several roadside teashops and at last your trail leads to the Gurung village of Dhampus. Here concludes your trip of the day. And it’s an overnight in a teahouse lodge.
Day 02: Trek from Dovan to Jhinudanda (1750m.) which takes about six hours. The path is descending up to Bamboo passing through forests with varieties of rhododendron, oaks and bamboo plants. After Bamboo, the trail goes steeply up to the Kuldi Ghar and now the trail gets quite flat until you reach Sinuwa. You trek gradually, descending to the Chhumrong Khola {river} and you have to follow an interesting stone staircase for almost an hour to reach Chhumrong. The last part of the trail runs steeply down to Jhinudanda. From the town you should walk down for 20 minutes to reach the Hot Springs on the banks of the Modi Khola. You can relax at Hot Springs; it’s a real good experience. Overnight Jhinudanda.
Day 03: Trek from Chomrong to Sinuwa (2360m.) and it takes about five hours. Leaving Chhomrong, the trail descends on a stone staircase and crosses the Chhomrong Khola on a swaying suspension bridge which is exciting to cross, then climbs out of a side valley. High above the Modi Khola on its west bank, the trail passes through the tiny settlement of Tilicho in forests of bamboo, rhododendron and oak. Climbing further through a rocky trail (beware of the stinging nettles) you reach three hotels at Sinuwa, at 2360m. Climb through rhododendron forests to Kuldi, at 2520m. This was once a British sheep breeding project centre; now the stone houses are an ACAP {Annapurna Conservation Area Program} visitors centre and check post. In winter, it's common to find snow anywhere from this point on. Descend a long, steep stone staircase into deep bamboo and rhododendron forests. It is then a short distance on a muddy trail to Bamboo Lodge (2340m.).
Day 04: Trek from Bamboo to Deurali (3230m.) which takes about five hours. Your trek gently ascends through bamboo forests with varieties of rhododendron and oak trees. The first town you reach is Dovan (2630m.) where there are a few lodges and camp sites. Now you pass through a muddy trail which traverses high above the river. There is debris of avalanches that can be seen except during the winter season. After a short trek, you reach Himalayan Hotel (2900m.), the town named after the Himalayan Hotel. Beyond it, the trail is steeply ascending up to Hinko Cave (3160m.), this is named so as a huge overhanging rock provides some protection against rain and avalanches. It takes approximately twenty minutes through a normally ascending path to reach Deurali (3230m.)
Day 05: On hiking the Annapurna circuit trail for 2 hours, you descend a small ridge branching out from the mountain pass to a mountainside with widespread terraced fields showcasing tranquil meadows and lush fertile farming land. As you reach the Annapurna South Base Camp, witness awesome picturesque landscapes, majestic panoramic views of snow-capped mountainous peaks and varied Himalayan cultural settings tucked beneath the southern slopes of the Annapurna massif. Thereafter, you head back down to Himalaya Hotel.
Day 06: Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Dovan & Sinuwa (2630m.) which takes about five hours. It's always much easier going down. You will have no problem reaching Sinuwa in a single day from Annapurna Base Camp. Now, you next trek through Himalayan Hotel to Dovan. And it’s an overnight at Dovan.
Day 07: After b/fast, trek from Sinuwa to Pothana (1600m.) which takes about five hours. The first part of the trek descends and then appears through flat land until you reach Himal Pani. Here, you find yourself hiking beside a beautiful waterfall. Beyond this town, the trail ascends gently crossing numerous streams and terraces. After a short trek, you will be at Landruk (1640m.), a pretty big village inhabited by a mixed community of Gurung, Magar and Brahmin as well. Now the trail gently ascends to Tolka (1850m.) and then ascends a level path to Bherikharka. From here, the trail goes steeply up to Deurali (2100m.) with a view of different mountain peaks arrayed in panoramic landscapes. Now the trail gradually descends to Pothana passing through different oak forests. Pothana is a small town resided by Gurung, an ethnic community of Nepal. From here too, you can enjoy the splendid views of various mountain peaks.
Day 08: Trek from Pothana to Dhampus Phedi and it takes approximately three hours and then drive from Dhampus Phedi to Pokhara by car or a tourist coach. The trail is gently descending up to Dhampus, a village mainly inhabited by the Gurung community. From here on, you trek through flat lands for some distance and then steeply descend to Dhampus Phedi. From this point, you board your vehicle and drive to Pokhara.
Your wonderful trek concludes at Dhampus Phedi.
